Premios Tony: Las obras del productor Diego Kolankowsky recibieron 17 nominaciones, incluyendo "Mejor Musical" y "Mejor Reestreno"

El reconocido productor argentino Diego Kolankowsky reafirma su influencia en Broadway con un logro sobresaliente: las producciones “Maybe Happy Ending”, en la que se desempeña como productor creativo, y “Sunset Blvd.”, de la cual es coproductor, sumaron en conjunto 17 nominaciones a los Tony Awards 2025, considerados los “Oscars del teatro”.

En el año en que celebra una década de trayectoria en Broadway desde su debut con Spring Awakening en 2015, Kolankowsky se posiciona como uno de los nombres más relevantes del circuito teatral neoyorquino. La ceremonia de premiación se realizará el próximo 8 de junio en el Radio City Music Hall de Nueva York.

“Maybe Happy Ending”, musical contemporáneo con una emotiva historia de amor entre robots, fue nominado en 10 categorías, incluyendo Mejor Musical, Mejor Dirección (Michael Arden), Mejor Actor Principal (Darren Criss), Mejor Libreto, Mejor Música Original, y en rubros técnicos como diseño escénico, vestuario, iluminación, sonido y orquestación.

Por su parte, el clásico “Sunset Blvd.”, de Andrew Lloyd Webber, fue reconocido con 7 nominaciones, entre ellas: Mejor Dirección (Jamie Lloyd), Mejor Actriz Principal (Nicole Scherzinger), Mejor Actor Principal (Tom Francis), además de reconocimientos por su excelencia técnica.

“Maybe Happy Ending” se sitúa en un apartamento de Seúl, donde dos HelperBots —Olivier y Claire— se conocen en un encuentro casual que evoluciona en una historia de amistad y redescubrimiento emocional. El musical combina elementos de ciencia ficción con una narrativa íntima sobre el paso del tiempo y el deseo de conexión, con una destacada interpretación de Darren Criss en el rol protagónico.

En “Sunset Blvd.”, Nicole Scherzinger da vida a la legendaria Norma Desmond, una ex estrella del cine mudo que anhela su regreso a la pantalla grande. El drama se intensifica cuando su vínculo con un joven guionista desempleado se transforma en una relación tan inspiradora como destructiva.

Kolankowsky, director de DK Group International, ha producido numerosos éxitos teatrales en Broadway como Once on This Island (ganador del Tony a Mejor Reestreno de Musical), Beetlejuice, American Buffalo y The Sign in Sidney Brustein's Window. Su visión artística y compromiso con producciones innovadoras lo han consolidado como uno de los productores más influyentes del teatro contemporáneo.
